The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is an international, intergovernmental organization founded in 1960. It coordinates the petroleum policies of its member states and aims to maintain stability in international petroleum markets and ensure supply for consumers.\u00a0<\/p>

The organization has been based in Vienna since 1965, where it maintains its administrative and technical center.
